This candidate will be a core member of an interdisciplinary materials and process development team that is focused on developing innovative technologies to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
What You’ll Do
- Perform analytical testing and method development activities including ICP, IC, Particle Size Analysers, Automatic Titrators, etc
- Facilitate work in the laboratory in accordance with good laboratory practices
- Research, develop and validate new analytical methods for a variety of applications and instrumental techniques
- Develop and implement new standard operating procedures and provide training to team members
- Act as site Chemical Hygiene Officer
- Interpret test data and generate test reports
- Support and perform other analytical test(s) as required
- Ongoing LIMS integration and management support
- Conduct failure analysis investigations and drive to achieve accurate results as quickly as possible
- Responsible for the care of chemical inventory and analytical equipment, including daily maintenance, initial troubleshooting, working with service engineers, maintaining databases, logs, and lab supplies. Lab maintenance and common chemical waste handling
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years practical working experience with analytical equipment
- 3+ years of experience in method development and validation protocols
- Hands-on experience in disciplines related to metallurgy, inorganic chemistry, organometallic chemistry or materials science is a plus
- Experience of new analytical instrumentation commissioning is a plus
- Must be able to demonstrate meticulous organizational and data management skills
- Must have a strong sense of safety and detailed-oriented, able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative project-focused environments
- Experience with and knowledge of OSHA laboratory regulations and requirements
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn Tesla in-house chemical analysis methods and operation of equipment, willingness, and adaptability to develop new methods
