You’ll be responsible for owning, modularizing, and evolving a largely Python-based API web application that provides the ability to remotely configure and poll guest machines via their host. Our team’s mission is to provide a fast, performant, and stable virtualization experience for our customers, and we believe that open source solutions can help democratize the cloud.

What to expect: 

• Work directly with our Provisioning subteam within Customer Platform to build out new virtualization products and harden existing ones
• Collaborate with our Accounts & Billing and Networking Products subteams within Customer Platform to support the resourcing and deployment of specific plans
• Collaborate with our Principal Engineer within the Internal Platform Team to maintain, troubleshoot, and harden our control plane across multiple data centers
• Work as the team’s Site Reliability Engineers to improve observability, help with automation, and develop or expand our pipelines

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Strong skills with Python, Bash, PHP is a must
• Experience with the libvirt library would be a huge advantage
• Experience deploying guest architectures via QEmu and KVM
• Strong Experience in Linux and/or BSD
• A strong belief in documentation as a core aspect of engineering
• Experience with Windows is a plus
• Experience with Test Driven Development is highly preferred

Compensation

$110,000 – $135,000

This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
